Occasionally Bart causes pain to people with simultaneous clockwise and ant-clockwise friction on their forearm. He calls this an Indian Burn. When I was aat school it was always known as a Chinese Burn. Why the transatlantic difference?
I always knew it as a chinese rub...same thing as you though....I suppose it's just one of those programme/program or colour/color things that proves we are divided by a common langauge.
Indian burn, here. Used to get them, and dead legs, monkey scrubs, Used to get 'Japped' too; [remember that?] Only Chinese appellations i know is Chinese Whispers. They all mean beyond the 'norm' as in French kiss, Dutch auction, French letter, Indian summer, Russian roulette etc, They don't neccessarily originate in these countries. :-)
I always laugh at a story a friend once told me, that when she said that she was going to 'smoke a fag' to an american she had to explain herself, he said that in america that sentence meant that she was going to shoot a gay. One to remember not to say when you're on holiday
