I dont watch soaps I think they are too silly for words but because of my idiot wife I have watched several sessions of Emerdale and if this isn't the most moronic piece of crap in television history I would dread to see what is.

I agree with you though - just the beginning of the theme tune to any of that crap starts a race to the remote control to change the channel - absolute mindless drivel.

I just can't understand why so many people are so hooked on the shows that they say things like, "I'll come out at 8, after I've watched my soaps" - Get a grip!

When it comes to tv programmes, my husband & myself have huge differences in taste. I enjoy the soaps, but he does not. I record the soaps & any other programmes, watch them later. Or I`ll watch them on another tv. He does not like sport at all, which I`m grateful for. As he works long hours, with early starts, he watches his choice of programmes in the evening on our main tv. My idea to it this way btw.

I work with a woman who's hubby works on Emmerdale and my son went to school with one of the kiddie actors. I have to agree it is the most amateurish,badly acted, poorly written soap - and when you think of how good it should have been with the wonderful dales it is even more galling.
