Simon Cowell is the only one withs the ba**s to actually say the truth about how good or bad the performances were. It really annoys me when he is giving his honest opinion and the audiebce immediately boo him without having the sense or courtesy to listen to what he says, which is nearly always the truth. If an act is poor on the day then they are poor irrespective of what they have done before. The Unconventionals who got voted off last week were let down in no small part by Louis Walsh's choice of song for them, regardless of whether they could sing or not.
If I were a budding singer and had the chance of Simon Cowell's opinion free of charge, I would jump at it, and listen to what he said.
He is honest - and he is looking for talent because talent makes him money. If people are deluded by their friends and family into believing they possess talent and they don't, then an honest opinion from SC should put them out of their mistery. No amount of wanting your loved one to be good when they are not outweighs an objective opinion from a man who clearly knows what he's talking about.

Well bloody said everyone - it gets on my nerves when acts whoop and holler if he praises them and say how much they respect him when you know full well they'd be slagging him off and saying he ruins people's dreams if he told them they weren't good enough. A lot of the people who go on such shows can't take criticism.
Unfortunately, he makes a lot of money from his Mr Nasty image so the boos start up as soon as he speaks, as Osprey says. I'd say 99% of the time, he is bang on when he says someone is a poor singer.

At least when Simon gives his opinions, you know that he knows what he is talking about. I mean the guy has been responsible for some of the biggest acts around so he knows he stuff. I know the Louie does to a certain extent although he did give us Westlife (which makes me hate him!) but Sharon does not know a thing. Her experience of the music business is soley managing Ozzy who was a big star before she came along and has dropped from the music business steadily ever since.
