What is currently the best Mobile Phone
3 Answers
I'm Due to get a new phone and it's difficult to get someone to show you a phone working without letting you look at a wall of cardboard cutouts tied to the wall with retractable cord, prior to trying to pin you to a contract for said cut out. So what I want to know is What is currently the best mobile phone on the market from personal opinion.

I also need a tri-band phone since I spend a fair amount of times in the states, but unless you do, it's not worth thinking about: the call charges are ridiculous too: given the tiny cost imposed by the carriers, my provider is taking the pi$$ charging 1.10/min. I also use a bluetooth headset because I get headaches using a phone for more than a few minutes, and wires are annoying so I require bluetooth. Based on this, I find only two handsets that match my criteria, the Nokia 6310i (I think), and the Sony Ericsson T68i (which I own). The T68 is awful - I've had five of these puppies now since I bought the original T68 two years ago, and this is only one that's lasted more than a few months, so I can't recommend it... In my opinion, the new Nokia 6100 is perfectly formed, small, thin, and without all these stupid cameras (which are as good as useless by the way given the resolution).
As any sales assistant will tell you when you ask that question - it depends what you want. At the moment the phone I'd recommend that has all the features you could ask for is the Sony Ericsson T610 - it's got a built-in camera, bluetooth and voice-dialling and it's cheap! If you don't need the extras then the Nokia 6100 is small and perfectly formed. I have both by the way. My only criticism is that the Sony doesn't have changeable covers which means that if you drop it you have to live with the scratches! (BTW I've had a T68i, 7650, 3650, MotorolaT720, Orange SPV, 6610,8310, 8910 in the last year and the T610 is my favourite). If you don't like Sony then wait a few weeks for the Nokia 6220.
