Just thought I'd let you all know what happened to me last week. So I was asleep (as you do at night), and woke myself up thinking I'd bitten down really hard on my tongue. Didn't think any more of it, but when I woke up in the morning, it turned out I had bitten on my lip stud and pulled it back inside my lip. So the front of the stud, that is normally outside my lip, was inside. Not in my mouth - stuck inside my lip.

It didn't hurt, but it was very wierd.

I rang a local piercing shop, and they said they had got one out that had been newly pierced before, but mine was 9 months old, so they suggested I go to casualty.

So off I went, had two VERY painful local anaesthetic injections, and had it cut out. 3 stitches on the inside of my lip, and no more wearing a lip stud for me.

I'm really disappointed, cos I loved it. I'd found a really small stud that just sat flat on my skin, and you couldn't really see it and it looked really pretty. I'm all jealous now when I see people who haven't had theirs cut out of their face.

So if it gets a bit swollen one day, like they do sometimes, and like mine did the day before I bit it, for goodness sake change your stud for a ring. Then you won't have to be cut open!

But the surgeon was yummy, so never mind!! Every cloud and all that!!

sounds nasty... lessen the dissapointment of losing it by getting somewhere else pierced?!...

I have a wing on each ankle, some vines on my lower back, a paw print on my wrist, a flower on my belly, a crappy tribal thing on my shoulder that was supposed to fade after 5 years, and cherry blossoms in each arm pit.

Do you have any?
the ankle and wrist... bet they were painful!... I only have the one... a Fiji-an 'phrase' on my left shoulder...
