I do believe that some people can sense things more than other people (i'd like to think there was something after death) but i reckon he does hype it up a bit ridiculously for the sake of the tele.
I'd agree with Quizmonkey, all mediums are fakes. All you need is the gift of the gab, a bit of confidence and the ability to 'read' people from their body language, tics etc.. There was a brilliant documentary with Derren Brown a couple of year ago where he showed how easy it is to do.
I saw Derek at St David's Hall and he was really accurate. I had a message from my mother (deceased) about something only I knew about. He also said "There's a young woman close to you and your Mum's telling me there's gona be a big wedding in either March or May with all the works" as he put it. Our daughter has lived happily with her partner for 3 years with no intention of marrying but just last week they told us they've now decided to marry and named the day today May 11th!! They wanted April but the church was fully booked.
I've also been to see him and he told someone in the audience things that only they could know about. The reason I know this is because in the interval, we met my aunties friend in the toilet and it was her that Derek was talkng to!!
I've seen a few mediums and he is the absolute worst fake I have ever seen. Avoid at all costs, total waste of an evening. I quite like Colin Fry though.
I'm still undecided whether or not there is any truth in any of it, maybe until I get a reading myself I'll never make my mind up. But I think some of the things Colin Fry says you just could not make up or read from any body language
