Robin Williams / Kate Winslet Film????

I saw this fab film a few years back and cannot think for the life of me what it's called. Kate Winslet was a journalist and i remember she was writing an article about a man who was in prison (think it was Robin Williams)....there was a relevance to a video tape on it as well and in the end someone (Williams) committed suicide and had set the plot up or something like that!?!?

Hi there kate winslett made a film called something like "the eyes of david gale"-played by kevin spacey about a man on death row charged with murder, she was a jouralist i think, excellent film

Could it be The Life Of David Gale with Kevin Spacey?
Williams and Winslet both appeared in Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet but that is the only film IMDb has which lists them together.

Definitely "Life of David Gale" with Spacey.

He was against the death penalty, and to prove that innocent people could be executed, was prepared to be executed for murder when the "victim" had committed suicide. The tape (of the suicide) proved his innocence.

Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!! Life of David Gale is the film and it was Kevin Spacey, not Robin Willimas. It is such a fab film and now i can get it out. Thanks to you three fab people!!
