Our adoration of the Hollywood dream female that is always "Perfectly made up" means, to me at least, we worship a fellow human that has been airbrushed, disguised, painted and decorated as the model of what the mainstream consider the perfect specimen.
It's a fake, an idol, an idealisation. All cultures throughout history have done it.

I liked Johansson in Lost in Translation, but that's because she looked natural. Since then I have only seen the blonde bombshell persona. Leaves me cold really.
