is that right? i thought "Seinfeld" was voted funniest show of all time a while back. its hugely popular and its a great shame if that is so.
in the uk it seems as if every sitcon ever made makes it to video.

TV shows are contracted to be broadcasted and then put into syndication for however long they decide to at the time. No release or home video can be made until this syndication contracted time is up. (this could be anywhere like 5 or even more years).
A good example of this is "Married With Children" - this took just over 7 years to come to home video.
Seinfeld will be released, but when is unknown - the show is most definately 'commerically viable'
