Why doesnt Sky Digital broadcast BBC Scotland when it is showing live scottish premier matches? Instead a message appears stating the programme is only available on Freeview and through an aerial !!

ah, THAT'S what happened to my telly today! Very strange - Sky won't allow it to be transmitted cos they are not charging for it cos its free?

did this happen last season as well?
Viewers in England can receive BBC Scotland on Sky, just like we get BBC Wales ( channel 942 ) and BBC N. Ireland ( channel 943 ) as well as other regional BBC stations. They didn't show the game to stop English viewers watching it. I don't think they blocked them last season.

Just been on the BBC Scotland website and found this message: 'Viewers should note that, for contractual reasons, SPL and Scottish Cup matches will not be shown on Digital Satellite this season. D-Sat viewers should revert back to their analogue signal using a traditional television aerial. D-Sat viewers with no reception should ensure their aerial has been checked by a competent installer. Viewers watching on Digital Cable and Freeview are not affected by this'
