I have recently bought a PVR with built in hard disk and freeview and have been having trouble with reception from Sutton Coldfield. Everything will be OK for a day and then the next day the PVR will lose signal and do auto tune, sometimes 3 or 4 times, this only happens on BBC channels 1 and 2. Sometimes the problem is resolved by doing a complete channel search and all is OK but when the TV is switched on the next morning the picture is frozen. Can anyone help?

With such a specific question you would do better in a Digital Spy forum. Log on to www.digitalspy.co.uk and register. Also, give the make and model of your PVR when you post the question.

This sounds like a simple case of insufficient signal strength. (The erratic performance is probably simply due to varying weather conditions affecting the signal).

Upgrading your aerial and changing the cabling should fix the problem.
