What's this film?

I saw this film as a teenager and I think it was made in the '70s. It's a British film and quite surreal - the only scene I remember is where the main character, a young man, is being held in a hospital against his will. He gets out of his room and goes into another room where there is a man in a bed. He pulls back the covers to discover that the man has the body of a large pig.
