Has anyone ever read this book, its by Stephen King writing as Richard Bachman, its one of my favorite books, Ive just seen on wikipedia that Frank Darabont (the guy who directed The Green Mile, and The Shawshank Redemption, both Stephen King books) has bought the rights to make it into a movie, does anyone know when its going into production?

Hi, I've read it a couple of times - brilliant book. I'd love to see it made into a film. Have you tried http://www.stephenking.com his official website? I haven't looked on there myself, but there's usually something on there about production plans such as this.
The Long Walk is one of my favourite Stephen King Stories.

If it's made into a film as good as Green Mile and Shawshank I'll be suitably impressed.
It is a fantastic story - most of King's novels as films are nothing like as gripping as his written words - 'Salem's Lot' and 'Shawshank' being the exceptions - but I'd certainly give the film a try if it was made and released
It seems Frank Darabont likes filming King's novels as he's also doing this one,

Couldn't find anything about The Long Walk though.
