Does anyone have details about the shop in this classic BBC comedy? Was it a genuine shop, where was it located and what is it like these days?

It's your lucky day iwbus. As a big fan of 'Open All Hours', I've been there. It's located in Lister Avenue, Balby near Doncaster, and is actually a hairdressers shop. Apparently I read that it was a hairdressers when the BBC were filming, but they paid the owner to have a holiday for three weeks each time they went up to film there, and dressed it up as Arkwrights. I visited it last year, and the shop hasn't changed in appearance since the final series was filmed in 1985. Looking through the front windows, the room beyond is only about half the length of the studio set of the interior though, and there's no door through to the back, just a full-room length mirror. Nurse Gladys' House is right opposite the front of the shop.
