Help, Im stuck in a diet loop!
3 Answers
Hello, you may have seen me before asking about diets. But now that i followed the advice i got im stuck in a diet loop.
Heres the problem, i eat according to my diet, 3 meals and snack, 5 fruit and water. I can follow this diet for about a week. But this is when the trouble comes. After a week i lose the power to say no to food and start binge eating. After a few days of doing this i then go back on my diet. The same thing then happens again. I start binge eating and then go back on the diet. This diet loop has taken over my life and food is all i think about. I have been stuck in the loop for about four weeks now and my freinds and family say i look thin, But i cant seem to see this. Please could some one help me.
Thanks
P.s. Im a male. I know i might sound gay but thats what happened when people call you fat.

What has the most incentive, a healthy body and mind or a KFC?
Apart from that, snack on fruit. You can eat as much fruit as you like, forget all the nonsense that it is high in sugars. Pants.
Good luck. And it is not gay at all to want the most out of a healthy life.

Hi Skyguy. I've had a similar problem for a long time and I'm now finally admitting it and trying to do something about it.I've gone 10 days without a binge now which for me is good going. All I can do is tell you the things that seem to be working for me and hope you can get something out of it.
firstly, I don't know how much weight you want to lose but I'm guessing it's more than a couple of pounds. My ultimate goal is to lose about 4 stone that that seems impossible and overwhelming so I'm trying to tackle it half a stone a a time. That way I can set realistic goals that I'm (hopefully) more likely to achieve.
Secondly, try and look for a pattern of when you binge and what causes it. I tend to do late afternoon when the kids are playing or watching tv and I'm bored or when I'm stressed or upset. Now I'm really trying to keep out of the kitchen until it's time to make dinner and if I'm stressed I go and write in my diary.
I have found keeping a diary helps. i just bought myself an A5 pad and in just over a week I have filled 30 pages of it!
Just write down everything - how you feel about yourself, how you feel about other people , what you're pleased with and whats p-ing you off. Remember , nobody else is going to see this so you don't have to hold back.
Finally to back up what Joe said, try to end each day by thinking or writing 3 things that made you feel good that day. it can be something big like getting back into a pair of trousers you've not been able to wear for ages; or something small - yesterday I noticed it was a bit lighter when I got up in the morning and it was a wee reminder that winter's on it's way out.Lastly do keep reminding youself that you're strong enough to do this and that you deserve to treat yourself well. I know progress can be agonisingly slow but the results will come.
Come on again and let us know how you're getting on. I send you my very best wishes. x
