First jewelangel there's no need to shout we can hear your crazed rantings ok....who else do i know who hasn't eaten for the past 44 days...say maybe the half the population of the continent of africa who regularly go hungry...as for the 40 days quoted in the bible...you'll find that most theologans accept that this figure is just said meaning he went away for a few days and we lost track of time......David Blaine is an illusionist....he did a trick...and a pretty boring one at that...if you'd care you'll find that there are LOADS of people who have shattered this 44 day limit one being Terence MacSwiney, the sinn fein lord mayor of Cork, died in a London prison after a fast of 74 days in 1920.

Hello jewelangel - I think you'll find that Christianity is based on rather more substantial incidents than the temptation in the desert - the reasons for doing so were also somewhat different.

He is a dick, who is to say for a start he did not get any supplements he is an illusionist he could be taking us all for fools, also there really is people is the world starving that go through this .I also heard several times as well that when he came out he was greeted my NHS doctors which is disgraceful, he should bloody pay for his own or die it would serve him right for doing such a stupid trick.

in referal to anushika's answer...i am quite surprised that the nhs doctor was so quick to be on the seen when blaine left the box,when ive a flu i can never get an appointment to see a doctor under 3 weeks,wtf is happening,however blaine probably made the apppointment before he went in ,,aha thats what it was.sorry NHS,(not)lazy no gooders.

IT WAS AN ILLUSION sorry for shouting, but we're in grave danger of taking this man as seriously as he does himself. i dont exactly how he did it, ive heard all sorts of theories but truth is i dont really care because this was possibly the most boring illusion ever, i really would rather watch paint dry, atleast derren brown stood a chance of doing something accidently fatal, same with houdini and all the other great illusionists. i was impressed by david blaines street magic, but i think he's developed a god complex since then and i refuse to fuel it.

Just a note to response by ANUSHIKA on Thur 30/10/2003 about using a NHS doctor. Most doctors are NHS, and if he used an NHS hospital he will be charged for the facilities becuase he had never paid national insurance.
