wireless connection to sky..
5 Answers
Hi hope you can help us out here have just gone onto sky broadband and having probs connecting up to my laptop wirelessy with the sky router I used to be with ntl and it was simple connecting wirelessy with them.
I know that cable and sky or bt etc need a differant type of usb dongle to connect with but I have tried 3 differant makes of the right dongles and just cannot connect with any of them it seems in general all of them are searching for my ip address but cant find it.
In desparation I even rung the sky so called technical broadband helpline the first person I spoke to was just after trying to sell me skys own dongle as the dummy that I spoke to said that they have no knowledge of helping with other types of dongles but there own one she just read a few things out to me that come up of her computer screen blah blah so eventualy put the phone down on her as could not even understand her accsent anyway. The next person was a bit more helpfull and took me through the process of putting my ip address iin manually but that was to no avail and in the end she just tried giving me some bull**** and eventually gave up with her so thought my next move is on ab and to see if veryhelpfullguy or anybody else on here can help us out.
So please help us out as I am missing sitting on the toilet surfing lolllllll....... (and I bet that I am not the only one on here that does that)

Disable firewall - you will be turning it back on, don't worry.
Now right click on your wireless icon and click 'repair'.
If that doesn't work:
Switch everything off and wait a couple of minutes.
Switch back on in this order:
Sky modem if separate to router - then router. Wait a minute.
Then your PC.
Good luck!
