Jonathan Ross - Jewish?

Is Jonathan Ross Jewish? I say he obviously is, my friend won't believe me and I can't find any online evidence.

I just kind of grew up t hinking he was Jewish. A friend of my sister's who is Jewish and used to date only Jewish men went on a date with him when she was younger. This was a long time ago obviously. My sister's first husband was Jewish. A lot of our family's friends have been Jewish. It has nothing to do with his nose! Sometimes someone just SEEMS Jewish - maybe something in his voice.

No, I haven't. Which particular bit are you referring to? My point was that a lot of people I and my family know are Jewish and often you can just tell. Often you can tell people are American or Italian, big deal, so what?

Why don't you make your points clearly instead of trying to appear clever? I thought this was a site where people exchanged information, not where they just made critical remarks.

I just cannot beleive that anyone could think he is not jewish. His obsession with s.h.i.t and all thinks s.h.i.t.t.y is a dead giveaway for a start. His whole attitude is of a typical ignorant, arrogant ***. How do you think he got such a well paid job? Not for talent, that is for sure. Even the name is juwish!

A lot of people find him very funny, including myself. He has the gift of the gab and he's very intelligent - well I think someone who has a degree in Modern European History from London Uni is probably intelligent. History isn't an easy subject - one damn fact after another. He certainly has a quick brain.

So by your anal definition, Frank Skinner is Jewish??

Ignorant - never heard anyone describe Jewish people as ignorant before. Seems to be an awful lot of evidence against t hat.

But anyhow, this isn't a discussion about Jonathan Ross's intelligence. I trust no one is disputing the existence of a Jewish accent or intonation. Obviously that's fading out now, but you can still often hear it, especially in older people.

I'd say he's Jewish. For a start, the Jew wife. Second, his name and his siblings with Jewish first names. Third, his family have long been media bigwigs. Fourth, Ross is an Irish and/or Scots name, he doesn't look too Celtic to me LOL! I reckon if JR were to be the subject of a 'Who Do You Think You Are?' programme, a delve into his ancestry would find Ross deriving from Rose, in turn giving way to Rosenstein or Rosenthal or Rosenblatt or Rosencrantz or... or...
