We all know its not real, but in a real trial after the verdict of guilty do they usually give out the sentence right away, dont they say that the sentence will be passed on such and such a date.
They may do - especially if the defendant has pleaded mitigating circumstances such as insanity.
Sentencing would then be deferred until psychiatric tests had been carried out and so on.
In Tracy's case she was found guilty of murder and that has a mandatory life sentence. The tariff is only a recommendation. It is not unusual for sentencing to be immediate in such cases.
had to laugh at the members of the jury though.........werent they just about covering every angle? One turban wearing chappie, a couple of black people, a chinese woman, another couple of asians dotted about and one or two white people! talk about covering your back!! lol
