silent movie needs identifying!!

A couple of months ago I came across a review of a silent movie on the web, and I've been trying to remember its title ever since. I think it was about a rural farmhand called David, and his sweetheart, and he had some sort of catchphrase using bad grammar or a double negative, and I think he died in the end. Very vague details I'm afraid, but any more info would be fantastic! :D

The names don't match and it's not a silent film but there's a film called "Of Mice And Men" about a simple farmhand who doesn't know his own strength who says "I done a bad thing." There's a bit about it here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Of_mice_and_men
