I was eight years old when I watched Hobsons Choice being filmed around the streets where I lived in Salford, Lancashire.
I can clearly remember John Mills and the cast being filmed, while we watched from the end of the street, which was taped off.
There is one scene in the film where I can see my grandad, in the distance, with his walking stick, in the doorway of his house.
I never saw Charles Laughton, but I believe this is because his scenes were mainly filmed on sets, rather than local streets.
I have the film on video tape, but I keep meaning to try and buy it on dvd. It reminds me of my very happy childhood.
At the time I didnt realize we weren't well off. I thought everyone lived as we did.
We played all day in the streets, and in Peel Park, another location used in the film.
