a song containing the above lyric was recorded by brendon dunning (billed as "brendon") in the spring of 1977, and entitled "gimme some".

it was covered by captial djs pat sharpe & mick brown in 1991.

Thanks for the post buy this doesn't seem to be right the lyrics are correct from the brendon link but i have just got the spencer davis group one off of itunes and it's not correct.
Can any one else help?

it is by brendon i used 2 work in flares can presume that is where you heard it, was released 1977 so check a chart from that year m8
Its definately Brendon, They were a band from Andover that had a couple of hits, one of the other members, Simon Mulley, lived across the road from me and went to the same 6th form. Gimme some was 1977.
Sure you arent after the Jimmy Bo Horne version?
I do however remember a different recording of this one, and I think it sounded like KC and the Sunshine band

I think that the artist is brendon and that the title of the song is gimme some but its the old version
