How can you tell if your DVD Player is Multi-region?

How can you tell if your DVD Player is Multi-region? I have recently bought a Samsung DVD-VR330 and can find nothing on it that says if it is Region 2 only or Multi-region. Not being very technically minded, does any of the following, which it does list, mean anything about regions? DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R, DVD+R, CD-RW, CD-R, CD-DA, MP3, JPEG, VHS. Any advice appreciated.

1.Turn DVD player on without a disc inside
2.Hit 'MENU' on remote control
3.Enter code: 57538
4.The current region code will be displayed in the top-left corner
5.For region free press 9 (region 2 UK, region 1 US etc)
6.Power OFF and power ON

Hi Ethel
Thanks for your prompt reply. I have just tried your recommendation but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to want to work on my player.
When I press Menu, I just get two options: Programme or Set Up. I have explored them all fully and it seems, there is nowhere I can enter that code (I presume you enter it by just keying the numbers on the remote control?).
Do you or anyone else know if I am doing anything wrong?
Regards
Janet

Hi Ethel
It works!! I tried it again - I think for some reason, I was expecting a 'Special Option' directing me to 'change of region' or something..... but this time I just keyed in the number, regardless and lo and behold a number '2' appeared in the top l/h corner as you said.
I've tested it with a region 1 dvd I had, which previously didn't work, and now it does!!! Many thanks for your help.

From what Ethel has said and what I've since found out, it seems most DVD's can be converted. I found the following link, which if you put your make of DVD player in, may have the correct code for your player:

Hope this helps
