After watching Casualty last night, I realised that I must have missed something or got something very wrong. As I understood the `plot`, the man supposedly off to Heathrow for his high-power international job in his expensive car, had in fact been making a living for the past year by casual labouring jobs and mundane work such as picking fruit. Now I know that Casualty, as with the other soaps, do stretch the imagination to the limit. But surely he could never have lived with a woman for that year without her having some suspicions? So where did I go wrong?

Maybe not...he obviously left dressed in his suit etc, saying he was off to the office..and changed into his "proper" work clothes elsewhere

No doubt he'd have told her that they werent allowed personal calls at work, so if she needed him to call his mobile, so he'd have avoided her calling the office where he didnt actually work

Im assuming though to keep up with the fantasy he's run up credit cards bills, loans etc to show that he was earning a big wage, and not just the bits he was getting from fruit picking etc - which is why I guess the baliffs turned up.

I guess in real life she would have had some suspicions, but I guess more lies etc would have been told to try and cover up, and throw her off the scent...for a few more weeks .
Some men manage to have 2 wives without either suspecting so I don't see why it was that far fetched
