French film

About a year (or maybe two) years ago a French film was released that was apparently brilliant. I believe it was a thriller of some sort that had a quite a labyrinthine plot, but set in modern times. I can't remember the name for the life of me - can anyone help? Driving me mad!!!

Amelie has a sort of intricate plot.

However, France has a huge film industry and they release a lot of brilliant films.
See Swimming Pool, Lemming, Irreversible to name just three....
