does anyone remember a drama called cybil or sybil played by sally fields about a girl with multiple personalities? I think her psychiatrist was called Dr Wilbur. I would love to get hold of a copy.

Don't think this was ever released in the UK, and it certainly hasn't been transferred to DVD. The 1977 master is available on NTSC VHS and there are several second hand copies available on Ebay.com - http://search-desc.ebay.com/search/search.dll?quer

It has been on channel 4. the book it was based on is called Sybil and was by Flora Reta Schreiber

Yes, it was made at the height of the Multiple Personality craze. It's not a disorder which is taken very seriously in pyschanalysis anymore, as most people fake it, or else their analyists unwittingly encourage them to create different personas.
