They're finally bringing out The Wind and the Lion on DVD this year, at last - magnificent! That and The Man who Would be King and Robin and Marian, all in a row in the 1970s, make an absolutely stunning trilogy of adventure movies and for that I would even forgive him his dumb remarks about beating your wife. (I wouldn't marry him, though.)
Okay Black Noir, glad you've got your a@se in the right place!

I am actually jno!
I think Sir Sean (Why? He sports a tattoo saying 'Scotland Forever' and pays his considerable taxes in Marbella!) is possibly the most one-dimensional actor on the planet. he is always always always Sean Connery, he has the acting range of a filing cabinet.
And to top it all, in 'The Untouchables', he played an Irish cop of no-fixed-accent (as usual) and got a bleepin' Oscar for it!!!!
OK, I have to go now, i can feel one of my 'heads' coming on .. discreet thud ... silence ...

well, I've heard people say that, andy... they said it of John Wayne too, of course... and yet I find Robin and Marian one of the romantic films ever made, full of love and nostalgia and regret, and marked by wonderful acting all around (you mightn't guess from it that Audrey Hepburn was older than Connery). There's really no resemblance between his character there and in Dr No for instance, let alone The Untouchables. I haven't got that much time for his recent stuff, but his work in the 70s was superb.
Pssst, Andy. Don't you know it's against the law to say anything remotely derogatory against Saint Sean? Any suggestion that he's a misogynistic, tax-dodging hypocrite whose acting makes the kid who plays Ben in Eastenders look like Robert De Niro is widely frowned upon (even if it is completely true - whoops).
that's the one, dot, him singing 'The son of God goes forth to war' as they cut the bridge down. The film was originally planned 30 years earlier, I believe, for Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy, but Caine and Connery are tremendous.

The previous two Doctor Who Christmas Specials have had very good veiwing figures, so I sure this will get good figures too, with or without Kyle.
I'm looking forward to it, and to Katherine Tate coming back in the next series as her character Donna.
There has been no official announcement, but it is expected that David Tennant will leave at the end of the next series, along with Russell T Davies.
