Does anyone else remember the children's TV programme "Silas"?

May well be showing my age here.....It was about a young German lad who ran away from the circus, and it had loads of horses in. I have been trying to tell my husband for three years that this programme existed.....any ideas? I really want a copy of the series, I don't suppose any of you clever people out there know how I can get a copy to watch, do you??

i remember it sadly.

It seemed to be another staple for the summer holidays, along with Heidi and Cliff Richard movies.

Mind you was excellent way to get kids outside enjoying the fresh air :)

I don't ever remember "Silas"? Follyfoot though I do. I don't know how old you people are but Champion the Wonder Horse & Fury started my interest in horses. So shall we all own up to our age!! AAARGGGHH!!!

I remember Silas well It was Forever on in the eighties. I remember it as Like Heidi it was dubbed and lip syncing was well out . The words were spoken and the mouths caught up a minute later.:-D

It was very bad pants, but there's something compelling about watching people speak and then hearing a badly dubbed voice speak a couple of seconds later!!!
Anyway I just liked the horse. He was the best actor of them all. And HE didn't need anyone to dub his voice.....

BTW I'm 30, Bugs, I can barely remember Silas if I'm honest but I just remember something about the horse. I remember Champion the Wonder Horse and Black Beauty (although it made me cry).

cheries, I'm so much older than that, I was probably busy being a Mum when Silas was on. Black Beauty, the TV series I watched, but the original book, which I've still got, there's no way I could read it now, nor have I seen the film. Going to fulfil a lifelong ambition tomorrow. A ride on a beach!!!

Yes, I do, loved it, I'm from '71 and it must have been on tv in the early 80's. I'm Dutch so on Dutch telly. Just tried to google it myself. Think it was my first pre-teenage crush, lol
