In the Night Garden - what are they on????

Does anyone like me with young kiddies who are mesmerized by 'In the Night Garden' wonder how on earth they decided this was what kids like and what on earth is going on in it? Must be on acid or something... But it seems to work. Anyone else have any idea what it's about?

Quite amazing programme - in terms of oddness it makes Teletubbies look like News At Ten. I still shake my head in stunned disbelief that it's narrated by Sir Derek Jacobi. I just find the idea of one of Britain's top Shakespearean actors solemnly intoning "yes my name is Iggle Piggle" absolutely chuffing hilarious. He's gone from "Let not our babbling dreams affright our souls; conscience is but a word that cowards use" to "one day Macka Packa was polishing the Ninky Nonk". Priceless. ;-)

Don't forget the Bombliboos in their colourful airship which makes farting noises as it flies. I think that the noise comes from the Bombliboos drinking their milkshakes !
I'm 36 and I love the programme. DVD is out in October !
