This is on TV at the moment..................but it looks everso dark there. I thought it was live...........

If not, what bits do they do on which nights ?

Its definately not live, the performance starts at about 9:00pm so tonights performance hasn't happened yet.

According to the official website, the filming this year was done between 14th and 17th August.

the performance that was on tv wasnt live, they record it and edit it slightly before they show it on tv. Everything you see on the tv is what they actually do each night on every performance, sometimes they do more

The parts edited out are when they change over from one display to the other, on tv its very quick but in reality there can be up to 5 minutes wait between displays esp. the gun carriage bit.
I went to the tattoo many years ago and I thought it was in the winter. It was so cold and wet all day and just got worse at night. Had to sit on a wire mesh seat for three hours, botty looked like a waffle afterwards.
