At the soap awards, one of the nominations for Villain of the Year was someone from Emmerdale played by Peter Amory. In the clip which was shown, he drank a glass of poisoned drink and died. Was this (a) accidental (b) suicide (c) murder by the woman who was watching him (d) suicide deliberately disguised as murder (in or der to frame the woman)?
Did you notice that the theme from Visconte's (universally panned by the critics, but I think it's marvellous) masterpiece Death in Venice was playing in the background in the death scene? Mahler's Fifth Symphony. Bogarde's mascara running. Boo and indeed hoo. Highly inappropriate in said context.
Oh gosh! No I didn't notice... (I haven't seen "Death in Venice" for yonks) By the way, did the said villain succeed in his wicked plan? Was Charity arrested/ charged/ tried/ convicted or whatever?
She was tried and convicted of murder (although she was framed by Chris' sister Zoe). At the appeal Zoe changed her evidence, but only because she bought Chris' new born son (born in prison) off Charity for 10000, which Charity's real daughter, Debbie, burnt on the barbeque. After this it gets a bit complicated!!!
