What artist plays this song?

I heard a song on the radio the other day and am trying to figure out who it was. I would have called the radio station but thought I knew; however, I was wrong. It was played on 107.7 The End in Seattle, an alternative/heavy/rock station.

Here's what I remember of the song:
It has a continuous and steady guitar rhythym playing. Kind of a surf/funk guitar sound. Over that is what sounds like a woman's voice. Her voice seemed to periodically fade in and out to the music. She didn't really say any words I could make out. It sounded maybe she was "humming" in and out of the song. The funky/surf guitar was still playing its same rythum. Then at the very end the music got really heavy with guitar distortian. It sounded like, what I thought for sure, was Billy Corgan singing. If it wasn't him, then it sounded just like him, from what I thought.

Therefore I assumed it was the new SP album; however, when I bought it, I was wrong. The new SP album is great though and worth buying, but I'm still very curious who this other band was.
