But I am still convinced that the very best picture quality you can buy today is still the old CRT tube, unless you fork out loads of money on a HDtv, a hd box and monthly subscriptions to view the very few hd programmes currently available.
There is nothing to say that HD is going to be the standard - there is a development war with blu-ray and one of the big companies is developing yet another technology.
Unless you need to buy a tv now, wait and see how it all pans out. If you must buy a tv, consider a large CRT tv - they are very cheap now, and you will be in a good position to buy the right thing when the industry has settled down.
