Was it necessary to show that kiss between Gay ( ups missed out the R ) and Paul in Emmerdale at 7-15pm.

Some viewers do not wish to see this, especially when there are very young children present, who cannot understand why two men are kissing each other in such a way.

What homosexuals get up to in private is their own affair, but do we need such scenes thrust into our faces on TV.

Why wasn't a warning given out that this Soap contains scenes likely to offend the viewer?

why should they give a warning, lots of things happen on tv that reflect real life but warnings arent given, take it youre anti gay?
I take it your not a Hollyoaks fan then as Craig and John-Paul are snogging at 6.30 on there!

lots of things happen on tv that reflect real life.

Reflecting real life, you say ? I have never seen it happen in real life, and I haven't led what one might decribe a sheltered life.

Neither has the vast majority, if they are at all honest. No this is just a ploy by the vast amount of gay lovey doveys, that hold control over the entertainment industry, to somehow highlight their sexual preferences.

Well alright then prance around at your awards ceremonies, dance on your gay marches and carnivals, but please keep out of my living room, thank you very much.
Very young children wouldn't bat an eyelid at this - unless they were reacting to comments made by those around them.

They certainly wouldn't feel offended, affronted or any other form of disgust. Not until they were programmed to do so by bigoted, prejudiced elders.
Bah! Humbug !
How dare they show a loving exchange between two people rather than the far better example of people shouting or thumping each other............know which one my kids should see...........mutter, mumble
ethel couldnt agree more. and if people dont like it.. switch off, their are a lot of things that occur on tv that i havent seen in life but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen
I agree with anotheoldgit....

Whilst I personally have no objections to what people get up to behind closed doors, images like this shouldnt be depicted on TV, and young children grow up thinking it is normal or expected.

I know I am going to get a lot of do gooders telling me I am wrong, but i really dont care
and whats normal? Young children will grow up to know it happens and thats life now.
People wont care in the future and why should they. What the problem with homosexuals kissing infront of you. I'm sure they wont try it on homophobics really arent their type.
Paul has been on emmerdale for a while now and came out quite a while ago maybe you should have stopped watching it then as it was obvious he would eventually kiss someone
Niki2002 - It's always 'not in front of the children', isn't it ?
Strange that you'll use the smallest members of society to justify your stance..........
Perhaps if there were more depictions like this people like you wouldn't be able to use the novelty to their own ends........
Normal is a man and woman....

The purpose of life is procreation, and for that you need a man and a woman. Unless Biology has drastically changed two people of the same sex cant do that.... NOT NORMAL!!!
Less of the exclamation marks I;m not having go. You are both entitled to your opinion and allowed to not like this sort of thing. I was just worried what you think is normal in this day and age. As yes that is what used to be normal 100 yrs ago but obviously not anymore.
ooooooooooooo..........

Well, I'm flabbergasted by the independent thought so beautifully crafted in your argument........

Yes, procreation needs a sperm and an egg...............but a loving relationship IS possible between same-sex couples.........
Jackthehat... What would be so wring is putting depictions like this on at a later time so children aren't subjected to imagery which takes away their naivety and innocence before they have had chance to grow up and fully understand what is going on??

Why should these images be thrust on them??
Niki- I pulled this from a site, as it rips apart your "normal" theory to bits far better than I ever could.

since biologists see homosexual behavior in other animal species. Homosexual behaviors have been noted in every primate species so far studied, and in man's closest living relatives, the bonobo chimpanzees, bisexual behavior is universal.
Cultural norms seem to have little influence on the incidence of homosexual behavior. So the claim that it isn't natural becomes rather difficult to support.

In my life I have never watched two people of any gender have sex, I have never seen anybody murdered, I have never told anyone to F off - yet all this and more is shown on tv.

Compared to that, a kiss is nothing.
Two adults exchanging affection is to be shown post-watershed ?!?

Your comments about naivity and innocence of children are fatuous............how can showing people being kind and caring to each be something shameful and something that can compromise innocence and naivity ?
And then suddenly let them see it in the real world nikii?? So they can be even more homophobic. What if your child turned out to be gay?
bet you wouldnt mind if it was two women would you oldgit :-)
anotheoldgit, just what programmes do you let your kids watch?
