did punk rockers wear braces?

the straps hanging down the trousers were called bondage straps and were attached by dog clips in one form or another...you could maybe attach some leather straps to the belt loops to get the effect. If you Google the punk shop 'Sex' or 'Bondage trousers' you should be able to get some pix to copy...

PS they usually went under the crotch as well and sometimes had a bum flap over the top (usually tartan), I always thought they looked really uncomfortable (square old me)

I can only remember the skineads wearing them. Punks used to look like they had been poured into their jeans, if my memory serves me right? Also loads of blingy bits like safety pins etc. although I might be wrong. Try looking at some of Vivien Westwoods fashions, that should tell you.
