I was wrong. see the bottom 3 lines.
I can remember watching midnight run with Robert Deniro and he had a phone number for Charles Grodin who he had to bring back, im sure the number was 5553212 and he said ....."looks like im going to New york".
There are 680 usable area codes in the United States, of which 215 are currently in use. Each area code has 7,920,000 telephone numbers (out of a possible 10,000,000) available within it. Some numbers, such as those that would start with 0,1 or 911, are unavailable for use. Others, like 555, which is used as a prefix for fake phone numbers in movies and on TV, are reserved for special use.

Thre was that song Jenny <-I>back in the 80's that had the # 8675309 in the song. It was a real number in the US when dialed with certain area codes. The people had to changr their numbers. I don't know what happens if you dial it now.... Hold on.....I just dialed it in my area code and it said,"Sorry all circuits are busy."
