Question Re FREEVIEW

I originally posted this on the Technology page, but am doing so here as well in the hope of getting more coverage. Is anyone else annoyed when you record something on a Freeview Hard-drive, and the programme runs late either due to starting late or (in the case of sport) the programme over-running because of analysis or whatever? I was under the impression - wrongly so it appears - that Digital TV was supposed to eliminate these problems as the boxes were supposed to know when programmes ended. Is there no way of overcoming this other than to record the programme after the one you want to watch, which in some cases may not be possible? Thanks.

Surely that depends on what equipment you have. I've had it happen a couple of times but I changed the default settings on mine to record an extra few minutes. It would be better if TV companies actually started programmes at the time said though....
