Which is your favourite?
and which do you find the scariest?

for me i love the Scream films, and the Final destination films, but i don't find them scary... ooh also LOVE the remake of Dawn of the Dead i thought running zombies were ace and much scarier than the more traditional zombies!
i think the film that i truly found scary was Creep! i never wanna go on the underground after watching that even though it was quite silly!

The Ring.

Japanese and American version both very creepy.
Question Author
i haven't seen the japanese version but i did find the american version creepy! didn't enjoy the ring 2 as much though..
The Hellraiser trilogy creeped me out..and still do. Yes, I know there were more than 3 of them but only the first 3 count in my book ;o)

Another one with the 'eeek' factor is a French horror film called 'Haute Tension'. I watched it a few months back and it is still on my mind!
I liked Creep too! :o)

I tend to like 'thriller' horrors, such as The Shining or Stir of Echoes (highly recommend the latter for 'chill' factor). I prefer jumpy films rather than lots of gore and bloodshed. I saw Sunshine at the cinema and that had me jumping out of my seat a few times!!

I really want to see 1408 when it's out on DVD.
Les Diaboliques (the French original) still makes my flesh crawl even when I know how it ends. Rosemary's Baby too. Sort of depends what you mean by 'scary', though... I'm talking about films that unnerve me, but that's different from the ones that make me jump out of my seat (for which I'd have to say the first appearance of the shark in Jaws and the end of Carrie)
I don't really find horror films scary but I do like the Saw trilogy. The last film was the sickest. I heard somewhere that people were leaving the cinema throwing up. LOL

"La Cabina" freaked me out though. Its a Spanish film which I saw when I was younger and it freaked me out. Still does now. Lets just say that I would never go into another phone box with a closing do ever again.
The Entity,
It was based on real events and still creeps me out.
My favourite is Evil Dead II

I can't think of any that have particularly scared me though, as far as I can remember only the X files has scared the actual sh!t out of me
I loved Nightmare On Elm Street, has to be my favourite because it gave me nightmares lol...
and Jeepers Creepers.... just why??? would you go down that hole....
Ooh.. what was that one called recently about the girl who was apparently possessed? It was based on a true story? Emily Rose? (That wasn't her real name I don't think... Anyway, that was really creepy!
Emily Rose was indeed creepy.

My faves? The Wicker Man (original); The Haunting (original) ; Saw; The Ring; Hellraiser; and I just watched 1408 - that gave me goosebumps.

For blood and guts, then i would say "Hostel" or "The Hills Have Eyes" (remake)

For chills, I would say "Blair Witch Project" and "White Noise"

For jumps, I would say "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Halloween"

For culture, I would say "The Whicker Man" and "Children of the Corn"
The Grudge has to be scariest for me, I watched it on my own and I needed a change of underwear afterwards! Grudge 2 however, sucked!
The descent (sp?) made me jump a few times...oh! and white noise (its not that i believe in ghosts, but i do believe in EVP)
The Wicker Man
Suspiria
Ginger Snaps
The Long Hair Of Death
Audition
The Legend Of Hell House
Dawn Of The Dead
Kwaidan
Ringu
Lair Of The White Worm

Favourites rather than scary, though 'Audition' was particularly unpleasant.
James 412 - the Lair of the White Worm! Amazon.com here I come!
An old one, but a good one .... Alien ....

And another old one which freaked me out as a child .... the original 'Salem's Lot' ....!
