Hu ivanski, I don't know if I am reading your question correctly but do you mean can an immersion heater switch stop working even though it looks as if it is working, the answer is yes, it can, but quite often the fault is either a faulty thermostat or immersion heater, it could also be one of the wires connecting into the immersion has become brittle and burnt out, please post more info, if I am reading it wrongly, Good luck, Ray
