Can anyone remember a short film with the title '12:01'? I know there was a feature film made with the same title and based on this. It was however, awful. The short film was Canadian in origin, and concerned a man who re-lived the same hour infinitely. when the clock struck 1,he reverted to when it was 12:01. Have tried Mr.Google, but to no avail. Anyone know if it's available to buy? Cheers gang.

Hi spiff. It appears there are two versions - one made in 1990 called "12:01 PM" by Richard Lupoff (who wrote the story) and Jonathan Heap (who directed the TV version), which was Argentinian, lasted less than half an hour, and was only ever made for (and shown on) TV. There is a little about it here: http://tinyurl.com/2qnlf .
It was then remade in 1993 (directed by Jack Sholder), lengthened to an hour and a half and called simply "12:01", which you can read a bit about here: http://tinyurl.com/2up5p .

However, I think even the remake was only for TV too, so chances of finding it on video/DVD are slim...
It's the claustrophobia of one hour repeating that gives the original its edge. The film version was totally different and the repeating period was a full day. I don't believe this has been repeated since a showing some ten years ago. Incidently, I was in correspondence with the poster of the first comment on the IMDB page as I was going to send him a copy of the film. While I was preparing it, he was contacted by the writer of the story who sent him a signed copy taken from the master tape. I guess that is unlikely to happen again, but there may be a way for me to send you a copy.
