Glasgow has just won the right to host the Commonwealth Games. Are we in danger of getting Games fatigue?

Just a bit worried about how the locals will be understood.

The "we want to have our cake and eat it face off" where each country bang on about wanting independence from their sovereign state but oddly never mention anything about launching their own currency, healthcare and welfare state.?
