I have just bought a Samsung DVD recorder and whether I use Video-plus or manually set the timer it will only record BBC2. I have tried it on BBC1, ITV 1 Chanel 4 & chanel5 & every time it is BBC2 that has recorded. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or is it the fault of the Recorder ?

this is very strange. if i was you i would take it back and get a refund, then treat yourself to a sky plus box . then you dont need any video recorder at all. this little box is brilliant.
More information please. Are you watching tv via digital - freeview, cable or sky?
we had a samsung video that was a nightmare as well, even when we did get it working it would just randomly reset itself and record what it wanted !!! i would go with sheffwed39 and suggest spending the money on sky+ box, money well spent :-)

The problem with a sky box is you can only watch the recordings on the tv it is connected to.

I have a hard drive recorder that also burns to dvd disk if I want to keep a recording or watch it on another tv. Incredibly useful.

And no subscription to sky either.
A DVD recorder contains a TV tuner, and you can record onto DVD direct from that, or you can plug a scart cable in the back and record from the output from Sky, Freeview etc.

If you are recording from Sky then you need to set the DVD recorder channel to EXT1 or AV1 (will vary depending on your DVD model). This will record whatever is coming IN form the Scart lead.

It sounds as though you MAY have the TV tuner in the DVD recorder set on channel 2 and you are recording that channel.

What are you actually trying to record from - Sky or Cable box, Freeview box, TV tuner in the DVD recorder or what ?
