why can't you record a digital channel on tv and watch another digital channel at the same time.Have we all been robbed,i thought when we went totally digital it was supposed to be progress.vhs video recorders didn't have this problem so why should digital.

However my digital video recorder allows me to do this. It also allows me to record 2 digital channels AND watch a recording at the same time. That can't be done on a vhs video recorder and I would certainly describe it as progress. You need to look at what equipment you have.
i bought all my new stuff before freeview was an intragal part of "whatever" i have a s-vhs recorder which i use as well as dvd recorder and have two freeview boxes one to watch and one to record. your vhs can record digital if you have a scart lead from your digi box to the input on the vhs ,no probs at all but as stated you must have another digi box to view another chanel while recording

ps you have to find on your vhs the input on your machine to access the digi input
