soaps removal sunday

Can anyone tell me why soaps have been taken off TV on sundays.have i missed something cos normally you hear something b4 hand

I read about it last week on teletext- there were some fairly widespread announcements

apparently they are moving the soaps from the weekend so that they can put on good family enertainment!, what exactly that is i dont know and shouldnt we have that all the time and not just on the weekends???

I think that they`re putting hour long episodes during the week instead.

this must have been a spur of the moment decision because the magazines are still showing as being on sundays.think i must have been asleep or something cos the first i heard was a bit of news in the mirror.i suppose we will get use to it and as for family viewing well me and hubby luv watching corrie and we think it should be on daily.but there is only 2 of us i dont suppose couples matter.it will be interesting to see what they class as family viewing???
i still cannot see why with all the channels that we have now.why oh why can't they have a channel purely for soaps.
