Setanta / uk gold on digital tv.

On my digital tv the above channels are scrambled. The tv has a CAM solt on the back so what i need to know is if i buy a CAM card will i be able to subscribe to setanta sports, or is there something else i need. Does it have to be connected to the phone line?
