I am watching Jolly Boys Outing (Only Fools, UKTV Gold+1, now).

Now I have been members of various lodges and socieities over the years but have never been on, what is colloquially known as, a "Jolly Boys Outing"

Has anybody under the age of a free bus pass ever had a day out on a coach with 60 or so friends?

Not wishing to sound in the least uppercrust, but are they a working mans thing?

Well I have never heard of "charra" either.

I imagine in todays age of "Fly to Paris for 25" etc, they are a dying thing.

"A beano to Margit" (re: Margate) is the way forward.
Well, dot, I can see you: do I pass the test?
ahhh, my answer before has vanished then, i just replied to the wiki link, it is usual up here to 'get a charra up' if you are organising an outing, lol
We used to have a "charra" every bank holiday from London and the first place we went to was margate, then it was either hastings, brighton or littlehampton loved it, cockles and muscles at the seaside, yes wardy it is a working class thing nearly always from places nowhere near the sea that had loads of us working class who needed a bit os fesh air and a bloody good laugh, you can't beat it, maybe A/B should get one going. No forget that idea end up in one big "bundle"
