Queston about Digital camera's .help needed
9 Answers
hi.
i am considering buying a digital camera, i wanted one for video recording purposes mailny. however i now understand that most digital cameras that you buy for under 100 will only record and store about 30 seconds of video footage.
Could someone please tell me if a digital camera like this can be plugged into a pc/laptop so that longer video's could be recorded and saved using the computers memory, rather than the digi camera memory ?

Before you ask yourself why am I bothering to answer if I can't answer your question, I just wanted to point out that I don't think the 30 second think is correct. If you buy a camera that stores its images on a flash memory device, such as an SD card, then you can upgrade the storage by buying higher capacity memory. For instance, the camera I own only came with a 16Mb SD card, which indeed only takes a few minutes of video. However for about 20 you can replace it with a 2Gb card which takes something like an hour of video.

not really
a still camera will record .... burt normally the quality is the same as a webcam 640x480
you'll get a few minutes of poor quality video
buy a bigger memory card ... and you'll just get more poor quality video .... it will just prolong the agony
if you want poor quality video .... do it right ... buy a phone

so is a "still camera" the same as a digital camera? i've seen digital cameras where the video quality is good and not just 640x480, but like i said before ,this only records short amount of video's.. so if a bigger memory card was used then would this make me be able to record and would the quality of video be the same or would it be reduced because i have switched memory cards ?
