How many of you out there love the old Retro-games? Say during the 70's,80's, or 90's. Although the graphics then were not as good as the ones today, the playability and addictiveness was so great among the old classic arcade machines.I own quite a few compilation video games of the past on the PS2,like Capcom,Taito,Namco, and Atari.I would like to own a Konami Classic arcade compilation.Favourite Konami games has to be Scramble and Track and field (I remember pounding the arcade buttons on this one). There was a Konami compilation on the PS1,but it's really hard to find, even on e-bay. Some of my favourite arcade machines include Mr do's castle,Battlezone,Tempest,Amidar,House of the Dead,Galaxians,Pac-man,Moon Cresta (really hard this game, but so addictive),Pleiades,Toki,Haunted Castle,Final fight,Shadow Warriors,Asteroids,Missile Command,Gorf,Tron,Galaga,Scramble,Ghouls n' Ghosts,Outrun,Night gunner,Lunar lander,Gravitar,Lunar rescue,Kung Fu master, etc.I used up many 10p pieces in those days. As a student I even played Space Invaders pinball in the Trinity College which is just down the road from where I live. If I had to create a compilation of games to go on one disc,I would include Toki,Haunted Castle,Scramble,Shadow Warriors,Shinobi,Revenge of Shinobi,Tron,Mr Do's Castle,Moon Cresta,Astro Blaster,Firebirds,Donkey Kong,Rygar,Lunar lander,Gorf, and Terminator 2.( I may be able to include a couple more)

There are some great 'retro' games but their playability is short-lived nowadays.
xbox live arcade has some great retro titles including track and field but having played it for about 5 hrs straight attempting to get a top score it became mind numbingly boring as you just dont fail.
Can you get amidar and donkey kong for any modern system?
I love a retro game, Paperboy (commodore 64) seems to stick in my mind! Like a bit of the old Pacman too.
To be honest, i have several compilations of old games, and the only one I keep playing is Bubble Bobble.

As an arcade gamer in the 80's, i played them all, and cleared quite a few.

I must admit Whickerman,I would love to get my hands on Amidar and Donkey Kong myself.Maybe it's worth having a look by typing in MAME in the google browser. There could be some sort of emulator or something that might just help out in playing arcade games on your PC.
Oh,why didn't I think of that in the first place? It's possible that you may be able to play arcade games on your PC.
Although,I would prefer to play retro arcade games on my faithful PS2.
I did complete a few arcade games myself, like Shadow Warriors,Shinobi,Final fight,Knights of the round to name just a few...
pacman and paperboy are on xbox live arcade as are many others eg defender, scramble, asteroids, missile command etc etc
MAME has all these retro arcade games and many more. For me, they are far more playable than the modern games.
i was always a classic pc game fan, such as links (golf) I remember having to load that one off a yellow 5 1/4 inch floppy. Return to castle wolfenstein, mortal combat, (ok technically not a "classic" but it had the classic style graphics) battle chess http://www.dosgamesonline.com/index/game/30/Ba ttle_Chess.html
Raptor (top down. plane shooter) similar to super swiv on the snes which iteslf is also a classic, just google abandonware and you can see a shed load of old games made for the most classic os of them all... DOS lol
