Kids programme

Does anyone remember a programme where there were a few boys and girls (teenagers I think) who had large oval stones or eggs or something that got really hot when you touched them. They were being chased by a man who appeared to be melting. I know this sounds mad but I havent imagined it. Any ideas?

Could this be Round the twist? It was Australian and on BBC1. I seem to remember something like that in an episode but cant be totally sure!

Dear mr./mrs.,

My sister and me are looking for the same series. There were 2 kids involved and some swamp monsters. 2 white stones turning blue and red when swamp monsters were in their neighbourhood. There was this elderly man helping them to defeat the monsters and their leader, an old man living in this big mansion. That's were our memory stops and no one seems to know what this series' title.
