When is Hero out?

When is the chinese film Hero going to be released at the cinema here. I've had it on imported DVD for ages and was promised by Empire mamgazine an August 8 release but I havenb't seen it anywhere yet. It is such a good film a nd want all my firneds to seeeit. Plus wouldlove to seeit on the big screen myself.

I think it's been pushed back to the 24th of September. Though there are fewer BIG movies out then, I would have thought that you still may have difficulty tracking the movie down unless you live near a big city. Our closest cinema has "missed" a few fairly big films of late because it can fill more seats by putting Harry Potter and Shrek 2 in multiple screens :-(. (I enjoyed both movies, but some variety would be nice!)

Totally, Lady Killers and jersey girl only got a week showing at my local. We do have very good arts cinema but films like the above appear to fall in the gap. not successful enough for UGC?Odeon types but not arty enough for independant cinemas
